The Beloved Blue Whale

The Beloved Blue Whale

I can’t possibly explain why, but I’ve been thinking a lot about Blue Whales lately. Blue whales would be the greatest pets actually recognized to have existed on the Planet. These superb marine animals tip the seas at up-to 100-feet (30 yards) extended and well over 200 tons (181 metric tons). An elephant can be alone weighed up to by their tongues. Up to a vehicle, their kisses. Blue whales accomplish these mind boggling measurements on the diet created almost completely of small shrimplike creatures. Whales are baleen whales, which implies they’ve plates of fingernail-like substance mounted on their top teeth. The large pets supply by abdomen to go in. Then A whaleis significant language causes the water out through the slim baleen plates,...

Star Wars: Commander – Like Clash of Clans But Better

Star Wars: Commander – Like Clash of Clans But Better

Yeah, I said it. There have been a lot of Clash of Clans knock-offs that have been completely forgettable and the mighty entry in the RTS arena from Supercell has been nearly unstoppable. Why does everyone keep trying to copy it, only to fail miserably? And Star Wars games don’t exactly have a stellar reputation. So many have been disappointments. So I had very low expectations when installing Star Wars: Commander on my iPad. I had heard that it was just Clash of Clans dressed up in the Star Wars mythology, and to some extent that’s very true. But the game designers did a great job of improving on the overall gameplay and added a lot of elements that are missing from CoC. Here’s what I like: the single-player experience, introduced through...

Headed to Utah Next Week

Headed to Utah Next Week

I’m making a small road trip to Utah next week for some time in the many National Parks there. The first stop will be Zion, followed by Bryce and then a short drive up to Arches National Park. I like to go right after Labor Day, when the crowds have died down considerably. This gives me a chance to have a lot of the park to myself and to just marvel at the natural beauty. Utah is truly a beautiful place and I’m really looking forward to the trip!

Playing Angry Birds Epic

Playing Angry Birds Epic

My latest obsession is Angry Birds Epic from Rovio. It’s a turn-based RPG instead of a physics-based puzzle game, which is a huge departure for the Angry Birds franchise. It’s also free-to-play, which means lots of In-App Purchases (IAP), which has a lot of Angry Birds fans upset. But I think you can easily play through most, if not all, of the game without spending any money at all. So overall, I think it’s a great deal! In Angry Birds Epic, you start out as Red. Several pigs including Prince Porky and WizPig, have stolen 5 of your bird eggs and they also kidnap the yellow bird, Chuck. It’s up to you to rescue your friends, who join your party as your adventure continues. There are well over one hundred stages to play through and lots of...

Boom Beach

Boom Beach

I used to be a huge fan of Clash of Clans from SuperCell. It’s one of the first mobile games that got me to part ways with some of my cold, hard cash. I played incessantly for weeks but eventually got tired of the game. It was with mixed emotions that I waited for the release of SuperCell’s new game, Boom Beach. This game is similar to Clash of Clans, but has a World War II theme where you fight to control as many islands as you can. There’s a single-player quest line involving some evil guys known as the Blackguard, but the real action, just like in Clash of Clans, are the player to player battles as you find for supremacy in a very crowded archipelago. I immediately brushed up on some Boom Beach secrets and strategy guides to get an...

My Half Marathon Success

My Half Marathon Success

I recently completed my first half marathon. I had trained extensively after having been out of shape for a while. I ran a slow race, but I was more focused on finishing it than worrying about a particular time. I was very, very happy with the accomplishment. I put a ton of work into training for the big day and it went really well. Here are five tips on training for a half marathon that I’d like to share with everyone: 1. Be sure you train Ok, this seems blindingly evident and it’ll be considered unreasonable to many individuals to attempt running a Half-Marathon without performing any coaching. Nevertheless, it will occur and, naturally, the folks who do thus are daft. There’s more to this stage than those individuals stupid enough to not...
